What is a Hill Landform
A hill landform is very simple to describe. It is land that is raised that has sloping sides. Hills come in many sizes from small and flat to high and rolling. They also come in many forms such as prairie hills which are lush and green. Some hills also do not look too great to the human eye such as barren hills of a desert.
The most famous hills in the United States are of the Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming. Many people also consider these hills to be mountains. The range does considered to be both a mix of mountain and hills. Not only are the Black Hills famous, they are gorgeous as well as sacred to the Sioux.
Another famous hill or hills are the Seven Hills of Rome. They are very sacred to the people who study Roman mythology. The seven hills are Aventino, Campidoglio, Celio, Esquilino, Palatino, Quirinale, and Viminale.
How is a Hill Formed?
Hill Landforms are formed a few ways. One of the ways was through the melting and shifting of glaciers. When the glaciers melted and shifted they dug up ground thus created the hills. Another way is through currents of water. When the water dries up, hills can be left. Another common way hills can be created is through erosion and deposits. Wind and rain can create hill landforms.
